fileId:3096224744167569;size:inter;I only had one day in Chicago, but it was a great one.  In a big city like that, I usually seek out a city tour that allows on and off privileges throughout the tour so I can see almost everything, but also get to see the things I’m more interested in more in depth.  This time I toured the city on the Chicago Trolley Co that provided the hop on and hop off service.  The guides on the busses were great, providing detailed information on the history, local celebrities, and even pointed out local street people!  The one place I spent the most time at was the Chicago Historical Society Museum.  Wow!  What a great museum!  If you want to know about Chicago, youmust make time to visit here where you’ll learn about the famous Chicago fire, the World’s Fair, and everything you’d ever want to know about Chicago.  It’s wonderful.  Beyond the History Museum, there are so many museums in Chicago that I didn’t have time to see: The Art Institute, The Nature Museum, The Museum of Science and Industry, etc.  It’s an amazing city for cultural events, too.  You’ll find diverse theater options and a multitude of fairs and festivals.  I’m telling you, when I get the chance, I will be back there for more than a day!

I spent my day exploring the city, by bus, trolley, and by foot.  I saw the Rock N Roll McDonalds (I’ve heard it isn’t the Rock N Roll McDonalds anymore – but it’s been a long time so not certain), and the Navy Pier.  I rode through ritzy business and residential districts and walked through quaint neighborhoods.  Chicago seems to have it all, including an abundance of limos driving around!

The day went by too fast.  I didn’t go to the Sears Tower due to the weather and I didn’t go to the Paradise Theater, but I did see the Old Water Tower and the cery cool downtown area with elevated walkways between buildings so people can get around in the cold winters.  The Chicago Bears won the night I was there.  I fell in love with the city in that day and promised I’d go back some day.  It still hasn’t happened, but it will.
