Nickolodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2010 were presented this past weekend, with some interesting awards handed out.  Winning favorite video game was Mario Kart for the Wii, Ryan Sheckler bested Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Shaun White for “Favorite Male Athlete”, and The Black Eyed Peas won “Favorite Music Group” beating out the Jonas Brothers surprisingly.  One other award which got the Team Edward and Team Jacob members talking was the KCA 2010 award for “Cutest Couple”.  While Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were nominated for the award from their work together in Twilight New Moon, they didn’t take home the prize.  To the shock of many, it was Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner who took home the award for their acting work as the on-screen couple Jacob and Bella in New Moon.

To make it even more interesting, Lautner and K-Stewart beat out another cute couple, the Obamas.  Apparently, Twilight fans everywhere have fallen for the vampiress-werewolf romance that’s budding between Jacob Black and Bella Swan in the Twilight saga.  There’s reportedly a steamy scene that will be shared between Lautner and Stewart involving a sleeping bag in the upcoming “Eclipse” movie which hits theaters in June.  Could make for back-to-back “Cutest Couple” award wins for Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the Kids Choice awards.

The Twilight series of books was also up for the “Favorite Book” award, but lost to “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.  Of the Twilight celeb stars, Taylor Lautner was on hand for the Kids Choice awards while Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were not in attendance.  Pattinson and Stewart were each working on or preparing for new film roles.  Don’t worry Taylor, the calls should come following the success of that Twilight project.
