Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner all reportedly suck in Breaking Dawn Part 2. And that has nothing to do with the fact that Rob and Kristen play vampires. The Twilight triumvirate reportedly gave lousy performances throughout the film. All three were miserable flops. Especially disappointing were RPAttz and KStew’s highly touted “vampire sex” scenes. As for TLaut, his entire performance ranged from “wooden” to “creepy.” Ouch.
According to What Culture, the final Twilight Saga movie was, at best, uniformly disappointing and at worst, seemingly deliberately bad. The stars’ performances however, were the film’s kiss of death, and the reviewer didn’t bother to mince words to spare their feelings. Nor did he try to avoid offending the twihards–who can turn vicious when their idols are blasphemed. Whatever. Hopefully the twihards wrath won’t be too horrendous–or ridiculous.
Robert Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s performances were so dull they might best be described as soporific. They exude “the feeling…that both of them are probably pretty bored with the series by now; they’ve made their money, and they probably just want to get to the finish line… there’s…the overarching feeling that they’re really phoning it in here.”
Alas, Robsten’s performances were Oscar-worthy compared to Lautner’s. His work was branded “as reliably wooden as you can expect, [and] thankfully pushed to the background for a lot of the film’s run-time.”
Bad as all that sounds, the nadir came in the form of Rob and Kristen’s big love/sex scene which was “exceedingly tame and, well, sexless.” That seemed especially odd since the scene was filmed before the Rupert Sanders cheating scandal when Robsten was supposedly a happy, carefree couple very much in love. Instead of coming off as passionate, their on-screen coupling was so devoid of sexual chemistry, it seemed “sterile.”
To reiterate: Ouch.
So, there you have it. Obviously, fans and haters alike will have to judge the film and its stars’ performances for themselves and make their own decisions.
