Robert Pattinson’s life was actually put in danger because Kristen Stewart cheated on him with Rupert Sanders, but luckily Leonardo DiCaprio stepped in to save him.
Rob didn’t get so depressed that he contemplated suicide or anything like that. Instead he turned to an old habit of his for comfort, and that habit just happens to be one that is dangerous and deadly.
According to Contact Music, the Breaking Dawn Part 2 star was on his way to living a healthier lifestyle before Kristen cheated on him–he had quit smoking. However, after he learned of his girlfriend’s infidelity, he turned to the cancer sticks as a source of comfort (a lot of smokers will have a few puffs when they’re feeling stressed).
Fortunately Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t about to let Robert Pattinson shave years off of his life. Leo recommended that Rob try electronic cigarettes to curb his tobacco cravings. Rob was even seen smoking one at a party celebrating the premiere of Kristen’s movie On The Road.
K-Stew should probably thank Leo for helping her boyfriend through a tough time, but perhaps Rob doesn’t want Kristen getting too close to his handsome friend. Womanizer Leo is single again after breaking up with model Erin Heatherton, and while he does seem to have a preference for models, he also showed that he’ll date actresses by hooking up with Blake Lively.
Rob and Leo allegedly became pals after being introduced by Reese Witherspoon, and it’s not hard to see why they get along so well. Leo knows just what the Twilight star’s life is like since he also became a teen heartthrob after starring in the movie Titanic. Since Breaking Dawn Part 2 officially marks the end of Rob’s days as a teen idol, he probably sees Leo as a source of inspiration–Leo went on to have a very successful movie career and isn’t known for playing just one character.
So while Leo probably isn’t the best boyfriend–it will only be a matter of time before Erin Heatheron is literally replaced by a newer model–it is nice to know that he cares so much about keeping his pals healthy and happy.
