The Ryder Cup 2012 schedule will officially conclude Sunday as live streaming online and TV coverage finishes up. The good news for fans of the United States is the team took a commanding lead heading into Sunday’s grand finale in Chicago. The latest score update saw the US with a dominant 10-6 lead over Europe at Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
The Ryder Cup live streaming action will be shown again on the NBC and Ryder Cup websites, starting at 12 PM Noon EST. Television presentation of Sunday’s action will be handled exclusively by NBC through the conclusion of the tournament. It will be singles match ups on Day 3, with Luke Donald vs. Bubba Watson starting things off, followed by Ian Poulter of Europe against Webb Simpson of the United States. Tiger Woods will be the last golfer featured, with a scheduled time of 2:04 PM EST as he takes on Francesco Molinari of Europe.
Speaking of Woods, as reported by ESPN on Saturday, so far Tiger is winless for his first-ever Ryder Cup tournament. Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia managed to outplay Woods and Steve Stricker in their pairing matchup on Saturday, but the United States still came away up four as they head into the final day of play. Woods was more concerned with his team’s performance than his own, commenting:
“Being up four is nice. We are in a great spot right now to win the cup.”
When it comes down to it, it’s less about individual accomplishments here and more about bragging rights for Team USA or Team Europe. One of them will come away with the Ryder Cup victory when coverage goes live streaming online and on television Sunday. Right now, it’s the United States’ tournament to lose, but based on their dominant performance so far, it appears they have it within reach.
