Somehow it seems that Keith Olbermann‘s ‘apology’ to S.E. Cupp for a disgusting comment he made about her wasn’t accepted. Back in April of last year, while Olbermann was preparing to take to the airwaves for Current TV, he saw Cupp on the Joy Behar show talking about Planned Parenthood. Obviously disagreeing with her view, he tweeted, “On so many levels she’s a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does.” There was some backpedaling and a little ‘Twitter-war’ back and forth by supporters of both, but no apology.
Eventually, Olbermann confirmed his course of thought—he wished Cupp had never been born. In later tweets, Olbermann said, “I never mentioned abortion. I said her parents could have used counseling by PP rather than get the results they did” and “no, I insinuated her parents would’ve helped the earth had they consulted PP for birth control,” and worse. Olbermann’s words would sting just about anyone.
After the recent Limbaugh vs. Sandra Fluke debacle, conservatives went off about the obvious double-standard. Liberals routinely get away with saying horrible things about women. Olbermann suddenly grew a conscious (or was covering his butt) and apologized to GBTV‘s S.E. Cupp and Michelle Malkin from his Countdown helm at Current TV. Surely he was being sincere? It only took…what? A year?
News of Keith Olbermann‘s dismissal from Current TV prompted Cupp to send him a little message from her spot on The Real News on GBTV. She says she is not gloating, giddy or gleeful about the firing…nope, not one bit. But, she does have a few choice words:
