Saavni Venna Update: FBI Joins Search for Kidnapped Infant

Filed in Gather News Channel by on October 23, 2012 0 Comments

Ten-month-old Saavni Venna remains missing several hours after she was abducted from her grandmother’s Upper Merion home. The infant’s grandmother was found murdered in her home and the child gone — the details aside from these facts are very slim in this developing case. It’s fortunate that the FBI quickly jumped to the assistance of officials in Penn., but will they find the child alive after this horrific homicide and kidnapping?

The father of the missing infant issued a heartfelt plea for the return of his 10-month-old daughter, but once again there seems to be an absence of the child’s mother. No details about the child’s mother have been released — or at least they haven’t been very easy to find yet. So where is she?

This is just a distressing case and it’s made more worrisome with the lack of details. An Amber Alert was issued earlier for the abducted infant, but it doesn’t seem to have panned out so far. Officials haven’t acknowledged whether there are any persons of interest or suspects in the kidnapping of Saavni Venna and murder of her grandmother, so it feels like they are as stumped as the public. Hopefully they are just playing this one close to their chests while the truth comes to light.
