Our summer vacation to Scotland was full of memorable moments, but these photos reflect some of my favorite memories…

Eilean Donan Castle near Skye…

Inside the keep…

A rainbow over Tobermory on the Island of Mull.

The rainbow-colored harbor front of Tobermory, on the Island of Mull.

Me, working on my book.

My husband, awaiting a dinner of smoked haddock pie.

Dunara Cottage, near Glengorm Castle, on Mull.

Glengorm Castle, on the Island of Mull. We walked three miles down to the sea and three miles back to see the Roman Bathing pool.

This cute little hedgehog was sunning himself along the path.

I was scared of him at the time.

The Roman Bathing Pool… a very romantic scene form my book is set here.

Calgary Bay, also on the Isle of Mull.

A little boat become roof on the most unique cottage I've ever seen.

We took a boat to the Island of Staffa to see Fingal's Cave. It was awesome!

Some unique blue poppies in the gardens of Torosay Castle.

A Celtic Cross in a cemetary overlooking Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull.

A boat in Oban Harbor.

A phone booth somewhere along Loch Awe.

St. Conan's Kirk on Loch Awe.

Looking down at a loch from the mountains east of Skye.

Cambo Estates Garden…. heaven on earth.

An exotic hot house lily at Cambo Gardens.

My husband, myself, our nephew, Stephen, and my husband's sister Becky D (from Gather) on the 18th hole at St. Andrews.

My husband and I at Sweetheart Abbey, south of Dumfries.

The ruins of the abbey.

A rhododendron in bloom – they were everywhere!!!

Heather blooming along the road to Skye.

Lupine blooming in the highlands.

Robert Burns' birthplace, near Ayr.

A bagpipe player in front of the Tam O' Shanter Pub near Ayr.

Standing on Brigadoon looking back at the pub.

Scotland's flag waving proudly over the highlands with sheep grazing in the background.

Thanks for helping me recall some of my favorite Scottish memories – some of my best memories ever!
