Sean Kingston isn’t dead after crashing his watercraft in to a bridge, but it looks like he may be facing a lawsuit for endangering manatees.
“Law enforcement [explains that] the area where Kingston crashed last weekend is a manatee zone — and according to Florida state law, boats and watercraft are prohibited from producing a wake in manatee-populated areas,” TMZ reports.
This really is not surprising because anyone who is using any type of watercraft should really know where they can and can’t go. Manatees are very protected animals, and if Kingston put any of them in danger by riding anywhere that he wasn’t supposed to, he is going to have to pay up. If he is found guilty of this activity, the maximum fine is an eeny meeny $32,500.
It’s very important for people to know the boundaries and to respect wildlife parameters. Hopefully Kingston will be more mindful – and careful – on his future water adventures.
