Serena Williams, battling tough opponents along her journey towards a back to back title, won her fourth Wimbledon title Saturday in straight sets against Vera Zvonareva.

The number one women’s tennis player and defending Wimbledon champion won her 13th Grand Slam championship title.  Serena is now number 6 on the all time list of Women Grand Slam leaders, five behind Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova who are tied with 18 wins.

Today’s match was not even close.  The match was decided in 67 minutes in straight sets with Williams dominating Zvonareva 6-3, 6-2.  And, for all practical purposes, this win extends the Williams family dominance at the All England Club.

Note:  Serena and Venus Williams have won nine of the last 22 Wimbledon titles.
