Slow Cooker Ragu with Marsala

Thanks to Gather’s new search feature, I found this recipe through The Splendid Table. It has been extensively adapted to reduce the work involved, fit my budget and to use ingredients that are more readily accessible.

This recipe is posted for the Gather slow cooker series. Enjoy!

2 boneless skinless chicken thighs
1/2 lb ground beef
2 pork sirloin chops
1/2 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 carrot, sliced
1/4 cup Marsala wine
1 can mushrooms
1 can beef broth
2 T tomato paste
4 oz smoky ham, chopped

Add ingredients from chicken through paste to slow cooker. Stir to mix. Cover and cook on high 3 hours. Add ham and cook another hour.

Serve atop cooked spaghetti or your favorite pasta.

I served this with leftover Gather bread, grilled and slathered with butter. Good eatin’.
