“Slow Down Your Neighbors” sneak peek

“Claire becomes a determined neighborhood vigilante hoping to catch and stop a menacing car that speeds through their streets. Meanwhile, Phil is busy trying to land an important listing with a difficult client, Jay teaches Manny how to ride a bike—only to learn Gloria needs lessons too—and Mitchell and Cameron stumble upon a mysterious neighbor who is quite the charmer.” (SpoilerTV)

James Marsden, best known for his role in the X-Men films as Cyclops, will be playing that charming neighbor. HeÂ’s not exactly a stranger to the small screen (though heÂ’s better known for his movie roles). He did have a recurring role as Glenn Foy on Ally McBeal back in 2001 and 2002 and also played Ricky Beckett on Second Noah back in 1996. More recently (in 2009), he lent his voice to an episode of Robot Chicken.

The sneak peek (below) of the upcoming Modern Family episode with Marsden as Barry shows Cameron spotting Barry shirtless and lounging in the hot tub in their backyard through the window. He alerts Mitchell. And after an amusing exchange about how long heÂ’s been there, they decide to call 911 (Mitchell) and get a bat (Cameron). Then Barry stands up and they decide to go outside to meet him (can you blame them?). They join him in the hot tub, and he tells them a story involving a coyote, leaving them mesmerized.

As Cameron explains, Barry just moved in and thought it was a communal hot tub. Cameron says there was no weirdness, and Mitchell adds, “aside from you turning into a 16-year-old girl.” Cameron denies it, but his giggles definitely do not help his case.

Will you be tuning in for James MarsdenÂ’s guest appearance on Modern Family?
