Snowflake in the Rain

At the train station

Standing in the rain

Can't take my eyes off the tracks that took you away from me

Cold steel rails in the distance, vanish from sight

Rain soaked clothes cant wash away the pain I feel

I look to the heavens and pray

A single snowflake falls to earth through the pouring rain

Lone survivor in the autumn rain

I reached out to cushion its fall

Precious gift of love

Love of my life, so fragile, so bright

So tenderly I hold you, so gentle are you

Snowflake from heaven, snowflake caught in the pouring rain

Only to melt away in the palm of my hands
