Staffa Island, Scotland – Photos Hot Off the Press!

I'm revisiting my Scottish photo files for summerpics, pulling out some of the ones I've never published before…. these are unedited, untweaked, uncropped, and hopefully not too blurry. Yes, the water and the sky were really this blue. These were taken on a day trip to Staffa Island, off the coast of the Isle of Mull, out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Yes, we took too many photos, but the scenery was incredible and we figured we'd never be back. Someday I'll write more about the experience, including the sharks that circled our boat on the way home. In the meantime, enjoy the beauty of Fingal's Cave and Staffa Island's basalt columns! If you have an Mendolssohn, it's great played in the background while you watch (the Hebrides Overture was inspired by this island…).
