‘Star Wars 7′ Casting: Corey Feldman as Han Solo’s Son?

Star Wars 7 is going to attract tons of stars even though the last trilogy of movies was panned. Most actors and actresses are probably just hoping that filmmakers will learn from the mistakes made in Episodes I-III and won’t repeat them in the next trilogy.

Then there are actors like Corey Feldman who couldn’t care less about what critics end up thinking about the movies—they’re going to be a big payday whether they flop or not.

The former child star best known for his roles in The Goonies, Stand by Me, and The Lost Boys sees the Star Wars movie as a way to get away from filming movies with terrible titles like Bikini Bandits, Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, and Zombex. According to Fansshare, here’s what Corey Feldman said about playing Han Solo’s son in Star Wars 7:

“I would certainly like to be a part of that new young brigade that they are going to bring forward. I think Harrison Ford’s son is a really great idea, actually. Fans have always said that I would make a great Indiana Jones, a great Young Indiana Jones. We look very similar, we have the same type of bravado.”

Corey would also like to see the original cast return.

Casting Corey in the movie might seem like a joke to a lot of Star Wars fans, but there are probably those out there who would like to see the actor win a role in Episode 7. After all, The Goonies and Stand by Me hit theaters just a few years after Star Wars: Episode VI, so a lot of kids from the early ’80s grew up watching Star Wars as well as Corey’s movies.

It’s hard to imagine him winning the role of Han Solo’s son, however, and it’s very likely that this role might not even exist in Episode 7—no one knows what the plot of the movie is at this point or if Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher will be returning.

Corey did voice Donatello in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, so maybe he could score a job voicing a different green guy in Episode 7. He could play a comedic character, but hopefully there’s no Jar Jar Binks this time around.

So do you think that Corey could score a role in the film?
