When the news emerged that Jobs had passed away, it was sobering and akin to other stories that left an indelible mark on this country’s history. Although it was made public the former Apple head was battling a rare and insidious form of pancreatic cancer, his death was still hard to bear.

However, for those who knew him, instead of honing in on Steve Jobs’ death, several celebrities, colleagues, and even members of government have come forward with fond memories.Steve Jobs

According to Politico, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said:

“His sage advice was respected by policymakers on both sides of the aisle. His courageous fight against cancer brought strength to many. I hope it is a comfort to those who loved him, especially his family, that so many grieve his loss and are praying for them at this sad time.”

“Tonight, America lost a genius who will be remembered with Edison and Einstein, and whose ideas will shape the world for generations to come,” said NYC Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg about who is Steve Jobs and what his death meant to America.

And one man described the late Jobs as more than just the man behind the iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, iMac, and MacBook.

According to Business Week, Disney’s CEO Robert Iger said:

“[Jobs had a] thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. With his passing the world has lost a rare original, Disney has lost a member of our family, and I have lost a great friend.”
