Sugar laden drinks are silent killers. According to a new report, sugary drinks have killed more than 180,000 people. Unbelievable, right?
Sadly, it’s true. A new report indicates that the sweet and often refreshing drinks are to blame for deaths from diabetes and cancer. In the United States alone there were 6,000 deaths linked to sugary drinks and cancer. Six thousand!
While it’s pretty clear that too much of a sugary substance — whether it’s real, fake or in between — isn’t good for you, it’s kind of crazy to think that having too much to drink — whether it’s soda, sweetened fruit juice or something else — can literally kill you. How can you avoid these drinks that are weighed down by high fructose corn syrup, sucrose and other chemicals?
Probably the best way to avoid being killed off by sugar heavy drinks is to try to buy 100% juice and stay away from soda, no matter how much you crave it!
