Sunday Writing Essential (07/06/14, Touch)

I’m late posting this column today, due to the hurricane and that I had an unexpected evacuation of my apartment duplex when a tree fell on the property. Not too much damage, but a scare that I might lose my car trapped under the tree (I didn’t).

Now on with the challenge…

Here’s the last of the series of writing prompts dealing with sensory emotions, touch. I think the connections between touch and emotions are fairly self-explanatory (I mean they don’t call emotional states touchy-feely for nothing). So for this challenge, I’m leaving it up to you. Write me a poem or story that connects the sense of touch with an emotion.

The Challenge:

Write me a poem or story that connects the sense of touch with an emotion.

The List of Things to Do:

  • Add this Challenge Statement to the post: Write me a poem or story that connects the sense of touch with an emotion.
  • Put (SunWE, 07/06/14, Touch) in your post title.
  • Be sure to tag your post with SunWE, Gather Writing Essential, and Touch
  • Then post it to Gather Writing Essential. You can also comment below with the link to your post to ensure I find it.

There is also a limit of three submissions from each member per day, which you can follow or ignore at your discretion.

Also, if you would like me to critique your response, feel free to request it at the end of your post, otherwise I will simply leave a comment.

Here are the responses I found for last week’s Taste challenge:
