It was a glorious sunset.
Yesterday, my friend Jackie and I spent a lovely afternoon playing tourist at the popular tourist attraction St. John’s Pass on Madeira Beach in Florida.
After an extensive foray into all the cool little shops we ended our outing with Margaritas on the rooftop at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp restaurant, overlooking the water.
It was the perfect spot to watch the fascinating bridge construction going on right in front of our eyes. It was entertaining to watch the draw bridge raised up to let the larger boats through and just plain fun to dart here and there to catch a shot of the pelicans, the busy fishing pier with it’s colorful shops and all the action around us.
Photo Essay on St. John’s Pass to follow (eventually), but meanwhile you are invited to
ENJOY THE SUNSET WITH US!
We arrived just in the nick of time, Mother Nature doesn’t wait:)
Here is Jackie with her new Canon camera immensely gratified that at least for now, she has a better performing camera then me. (Just a little friendly ribbing between friends)
The light and the colors changed amazingly quick.
Young Love …
do you remember when? …
There were no clouds in the sky
which meant none of those amazing back lit cloud formations
just a bright orange sky.
Marmelade sky, isn’t that what the Beatles called it?
I liked the angles
the concrete barriers in the water.
On the way to the car …
looking around for more photo opps …
I liked the teepee pattern
I discovered in the sea oats.
These sea oats are protected, a safe place for wildlife and just as important, it helps to keep the beach (sand) from eroding.
One last look …
On the way home, we – dare I say it – got lost in a tangle of backstreets.
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
I yelled, “Stop, stop!” when I saw this trio of condos backlit by the afterglow of the sunset.
Have a fabulous day everyone – I hope you liked the photo tour!
Thanks for looking!
