Supermodel Kate Moss Engaged to ‘The Kills’ Guitarist

Supermodel Kate Moss has announced her engagement to her rocker boyfriend of three years. The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince asked Moss to marry him on Tuesday, and presented her with a vintage 1920’s engagement ring.

According to a report from Popeater, Moss and Hince were actually in bed when he popped the question, which is a bit unusual. He did follow tradition, however, in asking Moss’ parents for her hand in marriage prior to proposing.

Kate Moss and Jamie Hince have set a date for their wedding. The two will be married on July 2, 2011. Moss’ 8-year-old daughter Lila will be her mother’s main attendant in the wedding.

This will undoubtedly trash all rumors that circulated last year around this time, saying that the couple had secretly married. In fact, a Popeater source tells reporters how their relationship has evolved throughout this past year.

“Over the last year they have grown so close, they are like man and wife. They’re going to have the mother of all weddings. It will be a huge party, one of the biggest she has ever thrown — and she’s thrown a few,” the source says.

Kate Moss’ past has been riddled with issues, including drug problems and rumored anorexia. She used to date both Johnny Depp and Russell Brand, in addition to the scandalous rocker Pete Doherty.

Hopefully this engagement and impending marriage will be a source of stability for the supermodel, who jokes that she, not Kate Middleton, could in fact be the most famous “Kate” to tie the knot in 2011.

Somehow that part of the equation sounds a bit far fetched, however. Kate Moss is a supermodel–but royalty? Not quite.

Nonetheless everyone wishes the supermodel and her guitarist boyfriend well, and hopes for a lifetime of happiness for them.
