Supernatural season 8 continues next week with episode 4, “Bitten,” the found footage episode, and it’s certainly going to be a very different episode than what fans are used to.

“A UNIQUE EPISODE OF SUPERNATURAL — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a bizarre murder in a college town. Close on the tail of their suspect, they bust into an apartment to find two dead bodies and a laptop cued up to some disturbing video footage. The footage begins with Brian (guest star Leigh Parker), Mike (guest star Brandon W. Jones) and Kate (guest star Britni Sheridan) hearing about an unusual animal attack in their town and the rest of the story is revealed through their eyes. Sam and Dean become unknowing participants in a unique student film.”

But will there be one in this episode? With most of it from the film these students are putting together, it’s not too likely, though there could be bits and pieces caught on film here and there (much like what happened in “Ghostfacers” in season 3).

Meanwhile, this episode is going to be different since it does consist of “found footage,” and the Supernatural season 8 episode 4 promo for “Bitten” (below) highlights that. A detective describes a victim as “shredded by an animal” (werewolf?) and some of the footage on the film shows something furry attacking in the woods, with bits of Sam and Dean’s investigation shown as through the camera lens. One of the kids apparently gets bitten, and the film shows something going down in that house. There’s a guy who punches a mirror—and a quick look at his teeth, along with a guy with a shirt covered in blood—and it looks to be dripping down from his mouth. Of course things don’t look good for that girl at the end. Those kids are going to wish they never went into the woods.
