Susan Sarandon Wears Bracelet Made from Children’s Teeth

Susan Sarandon has been sporting a one-of-a-kind creation around her wrist lately. The piece, which was designed by a friend of hers, features opals, rubies, gold, and teeth. Yes, teeth.

The 64-year-old actress wore the tooth-adorned bracelet to the David Lynch Foundation gala in New York City last December.

Surely, those teeth cannot be real, but they are in fact real. The teeth were the teeth that her children lost through the years.

The question, however, becomes how far is too far, when it comes to original pieces of jewelry? Is this a case of taking memories a bit too far, or is it a super cool idea?

On one hand it seems like a much better idea than storing them away in a box or worse yet, throwing the pearly whites away. On the other hand, it just seems wrong to step out wearing a part of your children around your wrist. Wouldn’t a locket or a photo on her iPhone have been a better and more discreet option?

Would you, given the choice, choose to make a bracelet or necklace out of your child’s teeth? Why or why not?
