Ted Nugent’s anti-Obama comments may follow him for a while. In fact, they led to the cancellation of his concert on a military base in Kentucky. Last Tuesday Nugent said he’d be “dead or in jail by this time next year” if the president is re-elected.

According to a report from the Huffington Post, the rocker was scheduled to be part of a concert lineTed Nugentup at Kentucky’s Fort Knox on June 23rd. In light of the comments, however, leadership on the base opted to ax Nugent’s performance.

REO Speedwagon and Styx are still on tap to play at the event, and efforts are being made to replace Nugent. Those wanting to turn in their tickets will be granted refunds.

“After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation,” the Fort Knox, Kentucky official Facebook page now reads.

Nugent met with Secret Service agents on Thursday and has apparently been deemed harmless. He called the conversation between him and the agents, “a good, solid, professional meeting.”

How do you feel about the military base canceling Ted Nugent’s performance in light of the comment he made about President Obama? Are they being overly cautious or simply honoring the president? Do you think Nugent might have been better off had he worded his feelings about President Obama a bit differently?
