“Teen Mom” Amber Portwood Parties With Cellmate and Paparazzi

“Teen Mom” Amber Portwood dumped baby Leah off on Sunday night with an undisclosed babysitter, so she could party with a cellmate she met while recently incarcerated. Also part of the party gang were members of the paparazzi, who were in Indiana to photograph the reality TV star.

According to a report from RadarOnline, Portwood, just 20 years old, couldn’t get drinks at the bar where she partied with her jailbird friend and the photographers, but reports say she found plenty to drink at a party in a hotel room afterward.

Amber Portwood met her cellmate when she was in jail for 24 hours, after being arrested for attacking her former fiance and baby Leah’s father Gary Shirley. It doesn’t sound like this is the kind of friend that Portwood needs, however. The young mother should have been home with her little girl on Sunday night instead of partying, since she has only recently regained custody of her child.

There are a couple of things that are profusely wrong with this entire Amber Portwood situation. First of all, the concept of “reality” TV is giving young people a completely misconstrued view of what reality is. “Reality” is not a teen mother getting paid big bucks, causing illegal scandals and being hailed as a celebrity for it. Secondly, this show gives teens the idea that getting in trouble is somehow “cool” and can gain them notoriety.

There is one main victim in this entire “Teen Mom” Amber Portwood scenario, and that is her 2-year-old daughter Leah. Since before her birth the cameras have been on this little girl. She is growing up under the impression that this is how people live. Sadly, this has become little Leah’s “reality.”

Fortunately there were no arrests involved in Sunday night’s gathering of “Teen Mom” Amber Portwood, her former cellmate and the members of the paparazzi. However, the whole incident might not appear favorably when Child Protective Services finds out about it.
