Teen Mom Kristina Robinson of ’16 and Pregnant': Late Fiance’s Mom Speaks Out

The new season of 16 and Pregnant hasn’t even started yet, but already one of the teen moms’ stories is drawing a lot of attention.

Kristina Robinson’s story is tragic and may remind fans of Farrah Abraham’s. While pregnant, Kristina and her fiance, John Todd, took a swimming trip. While swimming in the water, the couple and their friends were faced with some treacherous conditions and frantically tried to escape. Everyone was able to make it out of the water except for John Todd. He never had the opportunity to meet his son, Lukas Todd.

Since details of her story have been trickling out, a lot of harsh things have been said (especially on Facebook), but John Todd’s mother, Tina, took the time to talk to Starcasm and clear up any confusion about the comments that she had made.

You can read her entire statement here, but in part it read:

“I didn’t mean for my words of venting to my son to hurt Kristina or be twisted. I find that there are a lot of heartless people in this world. I love Kristina and have always told her to let me know if anything I vented hurt her so that I could have the chance to word things perfectly. She never gave me the chance.”

It is unclear when Kristina’s episode will air, but Tina and the rest of John Todd’s family does make appearance on the show. According to Tina, she has had little to no contact with her grandson since taping and was barred from attending the 16 and Pregnant reunion special by the teen mom.

If all of this is true, it is a shame that things have worked out this way. Obviously, both parties have dealt with some deep emotions and, at such a young age, Kristina seems to be handling them slightly differently than most. She has already moved on (and allegedly gotten married.) Could her story potentially earn her a spot on Teen Mom 3?
