The Bachelorette with Emily Maynard aired another dramatic episode this week. The events headed to Prague, and it is safe to say everyone was on edge in the city. With the confrontation of Arie, Doug’s awkwardness, Sean’s moxie, and Chris almost passing out during the rose ceremony – it made for an interesting episode. In the Chris Harrison blog this week, the host touched on these things.
As always, the host sees all. He knows about everything that Emily will be passed with before she does. The Arie situation had been teased as a huge dramatic event, but when the episode aired it was nothing of the sort. Doug and Chris made for more drama during the episode. Harrison said the following about what happened to Doug in Prague:
Doug has been obviously slowly drowning for weeks now with Emily. He just couldn’t show her what he claims he was feeling for her. Well, that was true until Emily was in the middle of breaking up with him and he decided that this was the perfect moment to go in for a kiss…? This really summed up their relationship. Emily and Doug were just never on the same page. I think he said it best when he told us his “girl radar is broken.” As far as Emily was concerned, that seemed to be the case.
As for bachelor Chris, the host was concerned about the man during the rose ceremony. He watched the man closely, and he thought Chris might pass out. John was shocked to be sent home because he thought he had the rose in the bag. Was it Chris’ last minute talk with Emily that earned him his rose and a hometown visit next week? That doesn’t seem to be the case. She just didn’t feel her relationship with John had moved far enough.
With drama teased for this week, it seemed to fall flat. Harrison even admitted in his blog that the Arie situation was not a ‘huge scandal’ for the season. The previews for this episode made it out to be though. ABC once again teasing viewers to increase ratings? That seems to be the case.
