The Bachelorette: Who Would be a Better Husband for Emily Maynard? (Poll)

As the finale on July 22 gets closer, everyone is speculating about The Bachelorette Emily Maynard and her final choice. It’s obvious that Maynard has chemistry with both guys, but in the end, she’ll only get to choose one, or even none, if some rumors are true. Ultimately, though, she’ll have to make a choice that will benefit not just herself, but also her daughter.

The big question is, who will be the better husband for Emily? Since Sean is inexplicably out of the scenario, will the single mom choose Jef or Arie?

Jef Holm — FouEmily Maynardnder of People Water, he’s got the entrepreneurial and giving spirit that makes him a great catch. He founded the company with a philanthropic goal in mind: to donate a bottle of clean water to those in need for every bottle of water his company sells. It means long hours at work to build his company. But in the end, it could mean a better life for Emily Ricki. But one has to ask, just how profitable can a water business be?

Jef is also very open about his feelings, but sometimes it’s almost as if he is saying whatever Emily wants to hear just to please her. Does she really want a “yes” man for the rest of her life? But one could argue that he showed how much he loved her by declining to spend a night in the fantasy suite with her because he respects her too much. Plus, she feels like Jef is the only one who really “gets” her.

If you’re cynical, you might think that he’s a bit too childish, naïve, and inexperienced. After all, he is from Utah. But then again, it might be just what Emily wants (or thinks she wants) for her and her daughter.

Moving on to Arie Luyendyk, Jr., it’s like looking at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Here’s a guy who’s already dated a single mom. He’s experienced. He’s the son of a racecar driver and a racecar driver himself. He travels the world to exotic and beautiful places. His life is filled with adventure. He’s even moderately famous in his own right.

But one niggling little fact could devastate his chances with Emily, and that is his past relationship with ABC producer Cassie Lambert. Something about him doesn’t ring true, despite his proclamations of love. Sucking face with someone 90 percent of the time does not equate true love. Stroking a woman’s hair and looking longingly into her eyes does not true love make.

So, who do you think would make a better husband to The Bachelorette‘s Emily Maynard? Did she make a mistake by dumping Sean? Should she choose the adventurous Arie? Or, should she go with the loyal albeit virginal Jef?
