The Cremation of Sam McGee: WWE Wednesday Writing Essential

Room Three, hospice ward. I read him “The Cremation of Sam McGee.” Dad beams, gets philosophical, rejoices I’ve come back from the Enemy, calls me a “prize possession.” I kiss his cheek. My self-image waits in the cloak room.
