The Myna and the Magnolia Bloom

A grand magnolia,

And from among its flowers,

A voice calls to me,

“Out of the miraculous

Comes the bloom of misery.”

A mynah spoke thus,

Black of feather, lusterous;

Winked it’s gilded eye,

“The bloom that sits before thee;

This, too, shall pass… By and by.”
