This week on The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep, the stop in Los Angeles is the last city before the semi-finals next week. This is a chance of a lifetime for one of the singers that are heading into the semis to compete for the recording contract with Atlantic records.

Angela Mukul was singing in a studio when Gloria Estefan walked in to meet her. Angela is used to staring at the computer screen as she sings online, so Gloria takes her to a coffee shop to sing. It was there that she noticed how Angela was clenching her hands when she sang. It looks like she needs to loosen up a bit. She took the stage in LA to sing You and I by Lady Gaga and did great.

John Rich meets Tilky Jones, who was in a boy band called Take 5. John had him meet the other half of Big and Rich, Big Kenny. They hit it off quite well and Big Kenny was just the inspiration that Tilky needed. His song choice was Fine By Me by Andy Grammar.

Jeremy Crooks met Joe Jonas as he stood atop a bus calling his name. Jeremy calls himself a dork, so he needs some help with his image. Joe took him golfing and while out on the course, he decided to give Jeremy some practice with breathing exercises. While the middle Jonas brother was driving the golf cart, Jeremy walked behind carrying his bags as he sang. What a workout! Joe then took him to a hair stylist and got him some new duds. He sang DJ’s Got us Fallin’ in Love by Usher.

Nelly surprises Krystle Cruz while she was shopping at the local market. She confesses to him that she freezes up on the stage. He got her to loosen up and to show some emotion as she sang. Whatever Nelly did, it worked when she sang Mama Knows Best by Jessie J. Joe even told her that it felt like she was singing to him. After all, he has had a few songs written about him.

Joe and John had a funny boxer show-off. Who had the prettiest boxers? Joe showed his black ones with sparkles and John showed a lot more with his red sparkling undies. It was a toss-up on who won that contest. Of course, Joe got more screams than John did.

Before the vote, Big and Rich sang their hit song, That’s Why I Pray and everyone loved it. Joe Jonas and Nelly were bobbing their heads along to the music.

The audience voted and the winner this week in LA was Krystle. Now it is time for the semi-finals on next week’s The Next. One of the singers that got booted will have a chance to return to the big stage. They will take part in the finals when the time comes for viewers to vote for their favorite to come back.
