‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Recap: ‘Drop Dead Gorgas’

Just when fans think the family feud is over, another erupts in the second episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey when Kathy calls Teresa’s parenting into question.

It’s fall during the second episode of RHONJ, so it’s time for the yearly Giudice/Manzo fall festivities. Teresa and Joe take a break from pumpkin carving to talk to the Manzos about the blowout at the christening. Caroline advises Teresa to find her brother and get their issues resolved, especially since the Posche fashion show at The Brownstone is coming up in a couple of days.

Kathy invites Melissa and Joey G. over for dinner to talk about the christening. Joey G. says that Joe Giudice has verbally abused him for years and that it’s all Teresa’s fault that he and Joe G. are no longer friends. Melissa takes yet another opportunity to blame the entire brawl on Teresa and Joe Giudice.

Just when everyone thought Kim Granatell’s 15 minutes were up, the infamous pot stirrer makes a comeback in the second episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In tonight’s episode, Kim G. is meeting Melissa and Kathy for the first time, but she makes no bones about her loathing for Teresa, which pleases Melissa. Of course, Teresa did call Kim G. an “old lady” last year, so maybe Kim G.’s role in this season is to try to take Teresa out completely.

As Melissa and Kathy get ready for the fashion show, Melissa insists she wants an apology from Teresa, while Kathy says she wants to have a little “chat” with Teresa to find out what’s going on and urge her to solve the issue between her, Joey G. and Melissa. Teresa walks in and acts as if nothing has happened because she feels a fashion show isn’t the time and place to air the family’s dirty laundry.

After the fashion show, Kathy asks to talk to Teresa privately. Although Kathy says she hopes Teresa doesn’t take the confrontation as an attack, that’s exactly what Kathy does. Kathy tells Teresa she is the one who should contact Joey G., but Teresa rightfully points out that her brother is the one who acts like an animal. The conversation is tense, but Teresa explodes when Kathy says Teresa left Audriana unattended at the christening. Teresa takes this as an attack on her parenting. Teresa tells Kathy she’s “done” with her, “Done, done, done!”

Ever the voice of reason and the classiest of all the Housewives ever, Caroline steps in and tells Kathy and Melissa that if the families want to kill each other, to do it in their own house, but she won’t tolerate this behavior in her house. Good for Caroline for showing those two drama queens the door.
