‘The Situation’ May Be Forced To Break His MTV Contract To Make A Court Date

The Situation, real name Mike Sorrentino, may have no choice other than to violate his contract with MTV. Because of an upcoming court date, Sorrentino may have to ditch the Shore House and head to court, which goes against his agreement with MTV to film Jersey Shore season 6.

Although Sorrentino is now sober after a stint in rehab earlier this year, MTV still opted to bring him on board for the upcoming season — which fans were happy to find out. Now, in order to fulfill his Jersey Shore duties, he must get next month’s court date rescheduled.

According to TMZ, Sorrentino “filed new legal docs in his ongoing battle with the clothing company over GTL-themed apparel. In the docs, Situation begs the judge in the case to let him skip an impending court date … scheduled for June 14th.” Sorrentino and the rest of the cast, including pregnant Snooki, are due to arrive in Seaside Heights, NJ next week and will remain there to film until July 7th.

TMZ also reports, “Sitch also says he wants in excess of $10 million from A&F for trademark infringement. A judge has yet to make a decision on the court date issue.”

The Jersey Shore cast is under contract to remain under MTV surveillance 24/7 for the entirety of the time they are there. However, fans may recall that last season, Vinny Guadagnino and The Situation both left the house briefly to get a break from the drama and have both been asked back. There’s no word on what will happen to Sorrentino if he leaves for court but judging by the past, it won’t be anything too live-changing.
