‘The Vampire Diaries’ Producer Julie Plec Says Originals Have ‘Moved in and Taken Over’

The Orginals have “moved in and taken over.” That’s what The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec said in a recent Producer’s Review for season 3, episode 14, “Dangerous Liaisons.” Spoiler alert: turn away now if you don’t want to know what’s coming up on TVD!

EP Julie Plec and Co-EP Caroline Dries take fans inside the next episode. The preview begins with a peek at a tense scene featuring Klaus and his siblings. He’s threatening Rebekah saying, “Do you want another dagger in your heart?” Kol jumps in to defend his sister responding, “Again with the dagger threats? Don’t you have any other tricks?” The confrontation ends with Kol challenging Klaus to “step outside” with him to settle things.

Now that all of the Originals have been let out of their caskets, fans get to see how the supernatural siblings get along. Apparently, they are just like most brothers and sisters—they fight incessantly.

The producers reveal that the upcoming gala was Esther, the Original witch’s idea. It seems Esther may have ulterior motives. She has asked to speak with Elena, and the Salvatore brothers both understand that Elena is in over her head with the matriarch. Plec says the ball is “not a safe place for [Elena] to be.”

Elena naively says, “I’m not leaving until I find out what Esther wants. So, shall we?” Stefan takes Elena’s left arm, Damon (somewhat reluctantly) her right, and they enter the ball. Is Elena underestimating the Original witch? Mystic Falls’ parties never end well, and this ball will be no exception. Plec hints that this event “doesn’t go well” for Damon and Stefan. Thursday can’t come soon enough!

What do you think will happen at the ball? Tune in to find out on The Vampire Diaries season 3, episode 14 “Dangerous Liaisons.”
