‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 3 Episode 22 Clip: Elena’s Decision in ‘The Departed’

The Vampire Diaries season 3 comes to an end next week with episode 22, “The Departed,” and Elena’s going to have a lot of thinking to do about her past and present. Will she make the same mistakes she already has? What will her decision be?

Vampire Diaries Season 3 Finale “The Departed” Sneak Peek

While one sneak peek has already been released showing Damon and Bonnie heading to a storage unit and talking about something Elena decided, there’s also a second clip out showing Elena, Matt, and the other Salvatore brother, Stefan. Does it offer any hints about which vampire she’s going to choose in the end?

The Vampire Diaries season 3 finale sneak peek from episode 22 “The Departed” (below) shows Elena waking up to find Matt sitting by her side. He explains Tyler and Caroline’s mothers called. Uh-oh, that’s not good, considering the last episode ended with Alaric revealing what they really are to the council. Are their mothers going to be warning them they have to leave Mystic Falls?

This episode is going to feature flashbacks, and it looks like there was likely one right before this scene since Elena tells Matt she was dreaming of sophomore year. She apologizes for stringing him along: “I should’ve figured out what I wanted and just been honest about it.” She’s decided to learn from her past mistakes and not keep making the same ones. She knows she has to let either Stefan or Damon go, and in the previous episode, she did admit she hadn’t made her choice because she didn’t want to lose anyone else. Now she has to, but as Matt asks, “Which one?”

Before she can answer him, Stefan walks in, and Elena hugs him. Spoilers for this episode have revealed that Elena calls one of the brothers back to town for help. It looks like she called Stefan. What does this say about which vampire she’s going to choose?

What do you think of this The Vampire Diaries season 3 episode 22 sneak peek from the finale, “The Departed”?
