‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Spoilers: Klaus and the ‘Slow Play’

The Vampire Diaries season 3 saw the introduction of a new love triangle in Tyler, Caroline, and Klaus. While it is one-sided on Klaus’ part, that’s not stopping him and it did provide some of the best scenes of the season between the Original and Caroline. So what’s coming next?

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Spoilers

According to Wetpaint Entertainment, executive producer Julie Plec has said “Caroline loves Tyler deeply” and “especially after the first episode, will continue to loathe Klaus in spite of her strange fascination with him that sneaks in every now and then.” With that “especially after the first episode,” it’s hard not to jump to the conclusion that Caroline is not happy about “a shirt that comes off under false pretenses” that Plec teased. With Klaus currently in Tyler’s body, anything could happen, and it would make sense for Caroline to “loathe” the Original after she finds out about Bonnie’s spell and that her goodbye with Tyler wasn’t with Tyler after all.

However, even though Caroline’s going to continue to rebuff him, Plec went on to say, “Klaus is not giving up on Caroline, but he’s by no means going to be a sick puppy dog. In fact, I think, he’s going to get some perverse pleasure out of seeking alternate means to drive a wedge between Caroline and Tyler over the course of the season. So it’s a slow play. He’s a long-term thinker, Klaus.” So once again, they’re going to have to be wary of Klaus in The Vampire Diaries season 4. Did you expect anything different? This also means more drama coming for Caroline and Tyler—or at least possibly coming. It seems like those two can’t catch a break. They get a few moments of happiness together only for something to happen to ruin it. Will Klaus be successful in his attempts to “drive a wedge” between them?
