The Vampire Diaries season 4 is heading for its midseason finale, and there is tragedy coming. Given what’s been going on this season, that’s no surprise, but which character could you have to say goodbye to?

Photo Credit: Justin Stephens/The CWAccording to TVGuide.com, “There will be mass casualties in the midseason finale, including someone you’ve known since Season 1.” Meanwhile, TVLine posted a spoiler that could be from TVD of “*****’s war against ****s will soon result in a deadly twist that no one will see coming.” Now if that is about The Vampire Diaries season 4, the asterisks could be filled in so it reads “Tyler’s war against Klaus,” which would make sense considering he and Hayley are working to break the sire bonds. However, what Tyler doesn’t know is that Hayley does know Shane. Is it possible that Tyler could die?

Even if TVLine’s spoiler isn’t about Vampire Diaries, this is still a possibility. After all, the midseason finale is going to see Stefan and Caroline at odds with Tyler regarding plans for Klaus and the hybrids, and Hayley’s going to be making it very clear that she doesn’t agree with Caroline’s suggestion. Could that be what leads to the “mass casualties”? Then there’s what’s been going on with Jeremy, which is going to lead Elena, Damon, and him to the Gilbert Lake House. Bonnie and Shane are going to try to help, but will they be able to? And what about poor Matt, who remains human and still alive after all this time? Will he survive the midseason finale? (Hopefully the answer to that question is yes.)

What do you think of the Vampire Diaries season 4 spoilers for episode 9, “O Come, All Ye Faithful”? Which character do you think will not make it out of the midseason finale alive?
