The Vampire Diaries returns to the CW for its fourth season next month, and while the focus of the October 11 premiere, “Growing Pains,” is Elena’s transition, there’s plenty coming up this season for the rest of the characters as well.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Spoilers About Bonnie

"Growing Pains" Photo Credit: Bob Mahoney / The CWAccording to E! Online, Kat Graham has teased not only “an interesting shift with Elena in the first few episodes,” which you would expect with her becoming a vampire, but she also previewed something coming up for her character as well: “Bonnie is going to meet somebody who is going to have a huge impact on her future.” Could this be the professor Bonnie is going to meet? All signs seem to point to yes since he is going to know about the supernatural and will be working with Bonnie.

Will he end up being a serious new love interest for Bonnie in The Vampire Diaries season 4? It sounds possible since he’ll “have a huge impact on her future,” but will he stick around or could he be another fatality in their lives? That’s assuming this professor is the character Bonnie’s talking about.

This season is going to see Bonnie trying to do something to save Elena, as teased in the promotional photos released showing her performing a spell, but it’s obviously not going to work since Elena is going to be a vampire and adjusting to that. Bonnie also performed a spell in the season 3 finale which put Klaus in Tyler’s body and saved everyone. She’s going to have to face some consequences (from the witches) for that, and there has even been some speculation about perhaps some dark stuff in her future. Whatever does happen, it sounds like there’s going to be a lot going on for Bonnie in season 4 and therefore quite a few chances for Kat Graham to shine.
