The Vampire Diaries returns to the CW for its fourth season on October 11, and the premiere’s title has already been revealed—”Growing Pains”—and it’s easy to see how that’s going to fit in with what’s going on. What about the second episode’s title?
Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 2 Title and Spoilers
Executive producer Julie Plec tweeted the cover page of the script for #402, and it reveals the episode’s title: “Memorial.” That’s not too surprising considering it has been revealed that this is the episode that introduces April, who returns to town—she was childhood friends with Elena and Jeremy—and is grieving for her father. Her father is going to be in the premiere and will know about what Meredith does with vampire blood and is going to be out for vampires. He obviously doesn’t survive the episode, so all of this means this title for The Vampire Diaries season 4 episode 2 makes sense.
It’s hard not to wonder what else will be going on in this episode. The premiere is going to pick up soon after the season 3 finale ended, as per Julie Plec at Comic-Con, so nothing is resolved off-screen. Elena will still be dealing with being a vampire and getting those memories of the times Damon compelled her back, and Nina Dobrev has revealed that leads to an “interesting” conversation “in the first couple of episodes,” so it’s possible that happens in “Memorial.” You also have to wonder if Klaus will be back in his body, meaning Tyler’s back in control of his, and what that’s going to mean for Caroline. It should be an exciting beginning of the season.
