It is down to the final eight on The Voice. America voted and tonight the results were revealed. Two of the artists finished in the iTunes top 10. Melanie Martinez finished at number eight, which gave her the advantage of having her score multiplied by 10. Following the artists covered in yesterday’s article, here is how they ended up.

Dez Duron
Ranked as third overall, America saved Dez Duron. He is well suited to this competition. Dez has plenty of sex appeal to go along with his talent. Surely most of his votes came from women, but sex sells. In this case, it is working to his advantage.

Cody Belew
Following Dez Duron at number four is Cody Belew. Cody took a risk last night and veered away from his pretty-boy look. Instead he went for the rock and roll look. The risk paid off, and he heads to the final eight.

Melanie Martinez
Coming in at number five, the youngest artist also has the clearest vision as to who she is. Her rendition of “7 Nation Army” was a risky undertaking. Her soft, understated style never changes. America not only voted her into the top eight, but Melanie finished at number eight on iTunes when voting closed.

Trevin Hunte
The 18-year-old decided to scrap the ballads and go with an Usher tune instead. By showing his fun side, Trevin appealed to more of American than in the past. Christina said that it was good to see him smile.

Amanda Brown
It was surprising to see Amanda Brown as the last vocalist chosen to go to the final eight. Although her performance on Monday night was strong, she is still struggling to come close to her “Dream On” performance. Bryan Keith had a much stronger vocal with his “New York State of Mind.” America voted, and in a surprising result, Amanda Brown heads to the final eight.

The Voice‘s final eight will perform next Monday night, Nov. 26, 2012. The finalists are Nicholas David, Cassadee Pope, Dez Duron, Cody Belew, Melanie Martinez, Terry McDermott, Trevin Hunte, and Amanda Brown. Did you see the results show? Tell the world what you think by leaving a comment below.
