THE WAITING (VI) Catena Rondo for Mindful Poetry

This is the sixth continuation of my character “Brat”…and using the Catena Rondo to sketch has been an interesting endeavor.  The Catena Rondo form forces the writer to double-write. The flow carries echo.

THE BRAT – THE BEGINNING

I. THE CHARGE (poem one)

II. THE CHARGE (poem two)

III. THE CHARGE (poem three)

IV. THE ANOINTING (poem four)

V. THE ANOINTING (poem five)

VI. THE WAITING (poem six)

Green-amber charged with metalic-gold, hair, electrostatic-flames. Pupils black.

Reclusive activities. Stares into grass and moving water. Knows things.

Talks to dogs: Karez and Kane. Runs away into thickets and springs.

Green-amber and metalic-gold eyes, hair color of flames. Pupils, obsidian black.

Reclusive activities. Stares into grass and moving water. Knows so many things.

Another lovely girl, lonely and melancholy, comes to play.

And as I watch them I am amazed. The birds also seem to gather where they play.

Reclusive activities. Through grass, and wading cold spring water. Knows things.

This other lovely girl never talks when she comes to play. Comes to play.

She is here now. They are swimming, dappled trout in this morning sun, and nude.

Their uncut hair entwines in water. Odsidian and flames. Liquid burled wood.

This other lovely girl never talks when she comes to play. Comes to play.

She is here now. They are swimming, dappled trout in this morning sun, and nude.

It has been three years since leaving the Burned. Protecting the Chalice of God.

We wait patiently for the completion of the “falling away”. Dependent on our God.

She is here now. Swimming near her protective hounds, dappled and nude.

It has been three years since leaving the Burned. Protecting the Chalice of God.

Green-amber charged with metalic-gold, hair, electrostatic-flames. Pupils black.

A drone is cruising quietly, way overhead. Look! The Brat is quietly looking back.

It has been three years since leaving the Burned. Protecting this Chalice of God.

About the Author ()

My "Abba" Father conquored my heart in a log church in Montana over 40 years ago. Ordained in 1968, God has always used me on the front-line in difficult ministry. My favorite music is the wind soughing through the jackpines...preferably Montana.
