Thursday Writing Essential

Greetings, Gather writers. It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to submit your work to the Thursday Writing Essential.

Was 2011 a good writing year for you? Did you meet or exceed any of your goals? What do you have for new writing goals for 2012?

The most important thing for a writer to do is to simply write every day. Whether that writing is for a publication, your own personal journal or simply an exercise in your craft, writing keeps the writer fluent. It’s akin to a weight lifter lifting those weights. Every. Single. Day.

For today’s theme, submit something that you feel shows your writing success for 2011. It needn’t be something that was published or a piece that received accolades in a writing competition. It need only signify success to you in some personal way.

Be sure to submit your piece to the Gather Writing Essential, and to use Thursday Writing Essential in your tags.

I look forward to reading your submissions!
