TLC is going back on tour, and Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes is going with them. The only trouble is, she died ten years ago today (April 25th) in a car crash in Honduras.
According to a report from TMZ, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas will project Left Eye’s image on to a big screen and incorporate some computerized melding of their voices with hers for the live performances. This will be done similarly to the way Tupac was recently raised from the dead via hologram.
What do you think about bringing back these deceased performers and in this case even having one go on tour ten years after she passed away? Is it irreverent? After all, they’re making money off the dead. Something is a bit disturbing here.
TLC is known for hit songs like Chasing Waterfalls on their Crazy, Sexy, Cool album which climbed the charts in 1990s. The group already has five major cities booked for their upcoming tour, and more are being considered.
Would you want to see a deceased entertainer on a big screen, performing ‘live’ during a concert?
