The night of Sunday October 10th, 2010 held plenty of surprises for TNA pro wrestling fans with the Bound for Glory 2010 Pay-Per-View. Also, if you’re a WWE fan, it held plenty of familiar faces. Wrestlers including Jeff Hardy, Tommy Dreamer and Mr. Kennedy (Ken Anderson) all were heavily featured on the card. There were eight matches total for the event, so let’s check out the TNA Bound for Glory 2010 PPV results.
The biggest result of all saw former WWE star Jeff Hardy facing former WWE star Mr. Kennedy (Mr. Anderson) and Kurt Angle. The match was set up for the vacant TNA World Heavyweight title. It also carried a stipulation where if Kurt Angle lost he’d retire. This was the main event and had everyone on the edge of their seats, as well as Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and TNA President Dixie Carter at ringside. Hogan was on crutches, which friend Eric Bischoff took one of and handed to Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy was able to win the match after smashing Hulk Hogan’s crutch over Kurt Angle and then Mr. Anderson for the pin. Does this mean a real deal retirement for Kurt Angle? Also, what will Jeff Hardy be like as the new champion, as he celebrated with Abyss post-match?
There were other championship matches on the card, with Jay Lethal defending the X Division title against Doug Williams successfully, and Motor City Machine Guns retaining their tag titles against Generation Me. Meanwhile, Tara (formerly “Victoria” of WWE Divas) was able to win a Four Corners match for the Knockouts Title. Serving as special referee, another former WWE Diva, Mickie James, who had the web buzzing with her appearance on TNA this past week.
In other contests, Rob Van Dam was able to defeat Abyss in a Monster’s Ball Match. The EV 2.0 team of Dreamer, Raven, Rhino, Sabu and Stevie Richards were able to defeat Fortune’s AJ Styles, Kazarian, Matt Morgan, Robert Rhoode and James Storm.
It wasn’t only a night of former WWE stars figuring in, but seemed to hold a lot of tag team action. There was a handicap match with Sting, Kevin Nash and D’Angelo Dinero defeating Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett. Ink Inc (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore) also beat Orlando Jordan and Eric Young.
Some fans are calling this one of the best pro-wrestling Pay-Per-Views of the year. There were some surprises for sure, with what sounds like the retirement of Kurt Angle and crowning Jeff Hardy with the Heavyweight Championship. Mickie James hasn’t wrestled in the Knockouts Division yet, but she seems to be heading that direction. It seems as if the WWE’s losses are TNA’s gains, however, the new champion Jeff Hardy is a questionable move for Total Nonstop Action’s wrestling as he is facing felony drug charges.
