TNT is readying for the launch of a new show next summer.  In June, Falling Skies will premiere on the network, and it’s unlike anything currently on television.  It stars Noah Wyle (ER) and Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation).

TNT has launched the new section of its website for Falling Skies, and those who are eagerly anticipating the series can go on there and read the first part of a comic which will serve as a prequel to the series.  Every two weeks, a new part will be posted.  You can also sign up for the newsletter, read more about the stars and their characters, and view photos from the show.  The series will begin with those who survived an alien invasion trying to pick up the pieces and figure out how they’re going to keep on living.  Wyle plays Tom Mason, and he has suffered loss during the invasion: his wife didn’t survive and one son was taken.  He uses the knowledge he has from teaching history and looking at past military strategy to help lead the 2nd Mass, which consists of those in the resistance.  Bloodgood plays Anne Glass, and as a pediatrician, she uses her skills with the children who are still alive.  The series “focuses on the resilience of the survivors and their determination to maintain their humanity when all else has been destroyed.”  By starting the show after the invasion has already happened and loss has been suffered, the show seems like it will be able to do this.  It definitely looks like something to tune into at least the pilot for, and those who have been missing Noah Wyle in a weekly drama series since ER will be able to get their fill. The comic is four pages long.  Tom is putting up posters, which include “One if by Land, Two if by Sea, Three if by Space,” “Join the 2nd Mass! Come to Paul’s house in the Old North!” and “Join the 2nd Mass! The fight begins now! Come to Paul’s house.”  Matt, tells him they have other posters that look better, but that’s not what they care about at the moment.  Hal wants to go out and fight, but Tom says they’re not ready though they’re working on it.  Tom says the posters are reminiscent of Paul Revere because they “just need to remind people that one person can make a difference.”  Anne has patients working on posters “to give them a focus. A purpose.”  The survivors can’t get to supply stores easily because the aliens have them guarded and have set up traps.  Hal wants to get Ben back, and that’s all he cares about.  Tom wants his family back together as best they can be with his wife dead.  He’s wondering what the aliens want when they hear gunfire.  Tom leaves his sons behind to go investigate and comes face to face with an alien.
