Tom Cruise, Church of Scientology and How They Set Him Up

Tom Cruise was set up by the Church of Scientology—with various women prior to meeting Katie Holmes. It really sounds like they tried to match him with their idea of the perfect woman.

According to a report from RadarOnline, Shelly Miscavige was the Church of Scientology member in charge of heading up the task of finding Tom the appropriate mate. And Shelly is none other than the wife of the Church of Scientology leader, David Miscavige.

It seems several suitable candidates were under consideration, and all were asked several questions about the actor, including what they thought of him.Tom Cruise

Nazanin Boniadi was the church’s first choice—the so-called winner of the Scientology ‘girlfriend derby,’ and she actually wound up dating Tom for about a year. She was very much in love with the actor, but the feelings weren’t mutual.

While dating Cruise, Boniadi was subjected to two to three-hour sessions daily with the Church of Scientology. Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth interviewed the former ‘candidate.’

She says these sessions Boniadi attended daily were designed to ‘purge herself of negative thoughts about Tom.’

“She felt completely shut off; her only source of money was a credit card issued in the name of Cruise’s production company,” Orth says.

When the relationship ended, she was whisked away to a Scientology center in Florida, and the ‘girlfriend derby’ resumed under the direction of Shelley Miscavige. While in Florida, Boniadi made the mistake of confiding in a friend about her relationship with Cruise, and was severely punished for divulging these never-to-be-spoken-of secrets. Her punishment included scrubbing toilets with a toothbrush and digging ditches in the middle of the night.

In 2005, Cruise introduced Katie Holmes to the world and to the Church of Scientology as his new girlfriend. In 2006 Shelley Miscavige went missing, and although David Miscavige claims he knows where his wife is, no one else knows her whereabouts. Does all of this sound a bit peculiar to you?

It does make even more sense now why Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise as a way of making sure their daughter Suri never got caught up in the cult that is the Church of Scientology. And Cruise let her go without a fight to protect the church and its behind-closed-doors obscenities—like the ‘girlfriend derby,’ the treatment of Nazanin Boniadi after she and Cruise broke up, and the very questionable whereabouts of Shelley Miscavige.

Yes, the Church of Scientology set Tom up—for life, apparently. Or is it the other way around? Have his generous monetary gifts to the church encouraged its secrecy and its bizarre behaviors? Just how involved in these strange and seemingly frightening incidents do you suppose the actor really is?
