Tom Cruise arrived in India to promote Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol to a swarm of screaming admirers hoping to get a picture or an autograph. Unfortunately, it turns out it’s Impossible for those fans to be fans because they were paid actors who had no idea who Cruise was. In fact, they didn’t even know his name. Major PR problems!

Signed Cruise, Tom 11x14 PhotoSupposedly, 200 plus fans had been paid $3 each by a model coordinator to show up and act like maniacs. One of the paid actors said, “Tom kaun? I don’t know who he is or what he does. We were told to come here by 1pm today and wait for a foreign VIP to come out of the airport gate and scream and shout when he came. None of us know who Tom is. There was a buffet lunch also for us and we were paid Rs 150 for this job today. We do this for television shows and other such events where crowds are required.”

Wow! And you thought Hollywood was fake! It seems there’s enough falsehood to go around the world. You have to wonder what Tom Cruise thinks about this story. People were paid a few bucks and given a sandwich or two to go scream at him. That must be a hard blow for his A-list ego.
