Actor Tommy Lee Jones committed what some Hollywood A-listers might never dream of: he skipped his new movie’s screening.  Jones was absent from the screening of his new flick called “The Company Men,” but for good reason.  The actor was busy filming scenes for another movie, and in fact part of the popular sci-fi/alien franchise he stars in with Will Smith.

The New York Post reports that Jones was hard at work in Brooklyn, NY until late Wednesday night.  The actor was filming scenes for “Men in Black III” which co-stars Will Smith.  Apparently, Tommy Lee showed up for the end of the after-party for “Company Men” which was held over at the new restaurant Aselina.  Other guests there included director Albert Maysles, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Gigi Stone.

“The Company Men” is a new drama film which looks at the effects of corporate downsizing on families and communities.  In addition to Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper, Kevin Costner and Craig T. Nelson also star.  The film officially opened for select audiences on December 10, 2010.

Good cause for Tommy Lee Jones to skip his new movie screening?  You bet!  The “Men in Black” films have been creative and humorous, so we can only hope for more of the same from Jones and Smith, aka Agents J and K.  “Men in Black III” is scheduled for release on May 25th of 2012.  There isn’t a whole lot known about the plot, although it has been revealed that Agent J (Will Smith) will travel back to the 60’s to visit a younger Agent K played by Josh Brolin.  Also scheduled to appear in the film will be Emma Thompson, Alec Baldwin and DWTS winner/Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger as a villain.  Sounds like a worthy cause for Tommy Lee to miss a screening!
