True Blood‘s fifth season is gearing up for an exciting ending. Not only are Sookie and Jason are the path to finding the vampire who killed their vampires and Eric’s dealing with the Authority (and Bill), but Sam’s also been pretty busy himself with the shifter killers and now Luna’s health. How will the season end?
Season 5 Spoilers
Sam Trammell talked to TVLine about “Somebody That I Used to Know,” which saw Luna shift into Sam, meaning he was playing two roles, and also talked about what’s coming up. The shifter killing storyline isn’t going away, and Trammell revealed, “Sam has definitely been set on a path and part of my storyline will be dealing with that.” He’s already helped Andy catch one of them, and thanks to his interrogation “techniques,” they got the address where they had Jessica. Will those “techniques” come in handy again when they catch up to the rest of the group of killers? If Luna does, in fact, end up dying like it looks like she will, Sam will have even more of a reason to be going after these killers. Will that impact how he reacts when they find more of them?
The next True Blood season 5 episode to air is 9, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” which Trammell called “just ridiculous”: “Some crazy stuff happens and you will continue to be surprised. There’s some more insane stuff happening.” The preview does show that Russell is going to be paying J.D.’s pack a visit, which can only mean trouble to come. Meanwhile, there’s whatever’s going to happen next with Bill and Eric, as Bill has chosen to “evolve” and stands with the other vampires. With the promo ending with Bill biting Sookie in bed, “crazy” and “insane” seem like the right adjectives to describe episode 9.
Speaking of “crazy” stuff, Trammell also teased the season 5 finale: “I think we have one of the best season finales we’ve ever had. For sure. There’s definitely going to be a ton of blood spilled and a lot of people die. The very end [of the episode], people are going to be like, ‘Holy s-t!’ It’s a major, major cliffhanger.” Will this cliffhanger be able to top last year’s? There were some pretty big questions left after season 4, but could season 5 be even worse in a way? Previous spoilers have revealed that the last shot will be of Bill, Eric, or Sookie, but what will be happening to whoever is last seen? Could it have something to do with Sookie’s search for the vampire who killed her parents? Could the cliffhanger involve her finding him? Could the cliffhanger involve Bill versus Eric since Bill has “evolved” while Eric is standing against the others?
