‘True Blood’ Season 5 Spoilers: Who’s Responsible for Russell’s Return?

True Blood season 5 will be bringing Russell Edgington back, and while promos have teased just that, the question still remains: Who dug him up? Who’s responsible for his return?

Season 5 Spoilers

True Blood 2008 logoE! Online talked to Denis O’Hare about his character’s upcoming return—and who brings him back—and all he said was, “It’s somebody who nobody knows yet. It’s a surprising character. And I think you get a hint in episode two, and then a big hint in episode five.” Everyone’s been wondering about this since it was first teased, and soon, they’ll be getting the answer. Meanwhile, the characters on the HBO series are going to be questioning one another about just this, and there are going to be some serious issues of distrust. What will happen to the person responsible for bringing Russell back? While there are hints coming in the second and fifth episodes, that doesn’t mean that the person’s identity will be revealed. It’s likely that after episode 5, viewers may have a pretty good idea, but confirmation may not come until later in the season.

So what can fans expect to see from Russell in True Blood season 5? While it’s unclear how Tara is returning and what to expect from her in season 5, the same isn’t true for Russell, though you don’t know who brought him back. According to O’Hare, “He’s still vicious, he’s still dangerous, he’s still highly charming, but they added all this stuff to him. We get to see him fall in love!” Everyone deserves some love, even Russell apparently. However, just because he’s in love doesn’t mean that he’s not still someone you don’t want to cross paths with. As the latest promo (below) has teased, he wants Sookie’s blood—and really, any human blood—and love isn’t something that’s going to keep him from getting what he wants or change that.
