Dad’s favorite of the Christmas cookie selection is these turtle candies. Easy and yummy!
72 pecan halves
1 1/2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Preheat oven to 300°.
Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil, shiny side up and place pecans in a Y shape on the cookie sheet. Place one caramel in the center of each Y and bake just til candy is melted, about 5 to 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, microwave chocolate chips with butter for about 40 seconds. Stir and place back in the microwave and heat for another 40 seconds or til the chocolate is smooth. Spread the chocolate over the candies, leaving the ends of the pecans uncovered.
Let rest an hour before storing tightly covered at room temperature.
